Starting 2022, the Directorate General of universities, Research, and Technology (Ditjen Diktiristek) will hold the 2021 Diktiristek Award Exhibition. The exhibition will be held on 5-6 January 2022 in Building D, Kemendikbudristek Complex. This activity is also to foster the spirit of domestic product innovation. Currently, the government continues to encourage innovation of domestic industrial products so that they can be optimal both in terms of productivity and marketing. This is in line with the program to Increase the Use of Domestic Production (P3DN) and import substitution. One of them is the existence of Indonesian universities that take part in giving birth to various innovative products that are beneficial to the community. Through this university innovation exhibition, both public and private universities participate to be able to introduce their innovative products. There are seven participating state and private universities, including the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB), Gunadarma University, Binus University, University of Indonesia (UI), Budi Luhur University, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), and Gadjah Mada University (UGM).
The event was also attended by university leaders and leaders of university service institutions. One of those present was Prof. Ir. Nizam, M.Sc., DIC, Ph.D., IPU, Asean Eng. as Plt. Director General of Diktiristek. He is a lecturer with the status of Professor/Professor of Civil Engineering from Gadjah Mada University (UGM). Prof. Nizam has a lot of experience in the field of higher education. One of them served as Secretary of the Council for Higher Education (DPT) from 2008-2013. In addition, he has also held the position of Head of the Center for Educational Assessment at the Ministry of Education and Culture. Currently Prof. Nizam has served as Director General of Higher Education (Dirjen Dikti) since July 21, 2020. Then as of August 2021 he will serve as Plt. Director General of Diktiristek.
At this exhibition, each university brings its innovative products that have succeeded in developing and benefiting the wider community. UGM introduced healthy food products and herbs at the exhibition. These healthy food products include wedang uwuh, kasabi, my cookies, and many more. In addition, UGM has other innovations in the form of herbal products, including Gamaflue, Gamafresh, Kalkugama, Imunogama, and other products. The existing products already have a distribution permit and are certified by BPOM. UGM also introduced innovations in medical devices, namely ventilators, aerosol suction, and M-Treat. So that with this university innovation exhibition, it is hoped that it can encourage the formation of an innovation ecosystem in PTN and PTS. Universities can be a means for the birth of various innovative products that are beneficial to the wider community and encourage the use of domestic products.
