Jakarta, September 17, 2025 – The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia officially announced the results of the 2025 Matching Fund Program selection. This program aims to bridge the results of higher education research so that it can be commercialized while providing a real impact on society and industry.

This year, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) secured the highest national funding, with 11 research proposals currently in the process of receiving funding disbursement. This achievement places UGM in first place nationally, surpassing other universities, including the Jember State Polytechnic (9 proposals) in second place, Yogyakarta State University (7 proposals), and the Bogor Agricultural Institute (6 proposals) in third place. This achievement also demonstrates UGM’s consistency in maintaining its tradition of excellence in research. Over the past three years, UGM has continued to record an increase in the number of funded proposals, demonstrating the capacity of the academic community to respond to national challenges through innovation.

The Matching Fund Program (PDP) is a government funding scheme in the form of matching funds for resources provided by university partners. This scheme is designed to strengthen collaboration between campuses, the business and industrial world (DUDI), government institutions, and the community, so that the research ecosystem can grow sustainably and mutually beneficially.

Furthermore, PDP is part of the government’s strategy to strengthen the national research ecosystem. Through this funding, it is hoped that research results will not only be limited to scientific publications or basic research but will also develop into innovations that are ready to be utilized by industry, society, and the government.

With this scheme, researchers not only produce research but also build close partnership networks with the business sector that benefit society. This collaborative model is believed to accelerate technology transfer from campuses to the wider community.

The hope is that the research produced will not only contribute academically but also have a real socio-economic impact on society. UGM also continues to encourage academics to produce applied research that can provide solutions to various national challenges. The 2025 Matching Fund Program is an important momentum to ensure that UGM’s research results are increasingly aligned with the values of democracy, while strengthening the role of the campus as a driving force for national innovation.
