Universitas Gadjah Mada continues to encourage lecturers and researchers to be productive in producing scientific works and innovative products that provide benefits to society and industry. To protect its impactful research results, UGM launched Intellectual Property Management Office (IPMO) as the Intellectual Property management office at Universitas Gadjah Mada on Tuesday (21/5), at GIK UGM.
Facilities provided by IPMO include the application of Intellectual Property (IP) with UGM ownership to the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) of the Ministry of Law. In addition, IPMO will also provide assistance in IP application procedures, analysis of IP potential of research results of academicians at UGM, as well as workshops, socialisation, and IP technical guidance.
UGM Vice-Rector for Research, Business Development, and Cooperation, Dr Danang Sri Hadmoko, said the IPMO would encourage young innovators to produce quality research and innovation. ‘We are ready to facilitate innovations that will be registered to IPMO and later there will be assistance from the department,’ he explained.
