Yogyakarta, Monday, February 3, 2025, Universitas Merdeka Pasuruan paid an official visit to the Innovative Academy office, Directorate of Business Development of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), in order to discuss business incubator development initiatives. The visit aims to explore opportunities for strategic cooperation between the two institutions in supporting the development of entrepreneurship and innovation.
During the meeting, both parties agreed on the importance of collaboration to improve the capacity and quality of business incubators at both universities. UGM Directorate of Business Development, which has long experience in managing business incubators and supporting startup development, will share knowledge and best practices with Universitas Merdeka Pasuruan. Meanwhile, Universitas Merdeka Pasuruan, which has great potential in the development of local entrepreneurs, will be a strategic partner in expanding the impact of the business incubation program in the Pasuruan region specifically and in East Java in general.e
The outcome of this meeting not only resulted in a technical cooperation plan, but also an agreement to implement a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Universitas Gadjah Mada and Universitas Merdeka Pasuruan. This MoU will serve as a legal umbrella and cooperation framework that regulates collaboration between the two institutions in various fields, including business incubator development, knowledge exchange, entrepreneurship training, and startup mentoring.
Head of Subdirectorate of Business Management and Development Diana Kestanti, S.E., Akt, C.C.D, accompanied by Denny Wijayanto, S.E. as the Innovative Academy program manager, in his speech, stated that this cooperation is a strategic step to strengthen the business incubator network in Indonesia. “The collaboration between UGM and Universitas Merdeka Pasuruan is expected to become a model of cooperation between universities in supporting the development of innovative and competitive young entrepreneurs.”
This meeting marks a new chapter in the cooperation between UGM and Universitas Merdeka Pasuruan, as well as a concrete proof of the commitment of both institutions in supporting the development of entrepreneurship and innovation in Indonesia.
