KirimObat is a startup fostered by the Innovative Academy of Gadjah Mada University that participates in the 2024 Innovation Challenge program. KirimObat focuses on efficient and precise drug delivery services. KirimObat is here to answer the problem of queuing drugs in the pharmacy section that patients experience after consulting or receiving treatment at the hospital. The actual queue of drugs does not need to occur so that it causes a domino effect on other activities.
The idea of KirimObat emerged from the experience of the CEO of KirimObat, Saiful Bakhtiar, an alumnus of Fisipol UGM, who saw firsthand the obstacles faced by patients in queuing to get drugs prescribed by doctors. Saiful Bakhtiar, an entrepreneur with a background as Management at GoTo, and Anton Hadiyanto, who has a background as an accountant, collaborated to create efficient and appropriate solutions.
KirimObat has unique and costume-based products in accordance with the flow and SOP of hospital services. They combine technology and IoT so that hospitals can monitor deliveries in real-time through dashboards. Patients can also easily order drug delivery independently through the KirimObat Mandiri platform.
KirimObat makes money from the cost of shipping medication packages. They use the Below The Line (BTL) strategy of direct promotion to patients and direct selling to hospital partners to promote their services. KirimObat in its business journey faces two main challenges, namely human resources and funding. They carry out various trial and error management strategies, currently they use a talent pooling strategy to keep HR in and out, and are very selective in looking for investors who are the same in the company’s vision and mission. In today’s digital era, KirimObat has plans to develop a technological side that makes it easier for both hospital management and patients to use drug delivery services. They also started advocating for drug delivery services to be part of the patient itinerary plan for the health ecosystem in Indonesia.
KirimObat has collaborated with several hospitals in Palembang, Yogyakarta and Central Java. Currently, several hospitals that have not yet collaborated are starting to be interested and have begun to explore collaboration. This encouraging development shows that there are problems in the community that are solved by KirimObat, this gives a breath of fresh air to the KirimObat team so that they are more enthusiastic about developing Startups.
KirimObat is a startup that has great potential to change the way drugs are delivered in Indonesia. With the technology and IoT they have developed, KirimObat can help patients get the medications they need more efficiently and precisely. With ambitious future plans, KirimObat is poised to become a leader in distribution management in the healthcare industry in Indonesia.
