The Directorate of Business Development and Incubation (Pengembangan Usaha dan Inkubasi/PUI) UGM is involved in the Sociopreneur Muda Indonesia ( Soprema ) 2022 competition held by FISIPOL UGM. This event is an activity from FISIPOL UGM through the Youth Study Center (YouSure) and in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenpora RI) in organizing it. According to the Director of Soprema FISIPOL UGM 2022, Eka Zuni Lusi, Soprema activities are one way to create a social entrepreneurship ecosystem. She also said that her party was always committed to reviving and encouraging social entrepreneurship, especially for young people from all over Indonesia.
In addition to the competition, there are several other activities in the Soprema series of events, one of which is the incubation activity. This incubation activity is carried out by the Directorate of Business Development and Incubation (PUI) UGM in the form of assistance for young sociopreneurs to develop the potential of social entrepreneurship. This mentoring activity is in line with the task of the Directorate of PUI UGM in encouraging the development of the entrepreneurial capacity of the academic community for business and nation independence, as well as micro, small and medium business activities. The Directorate of PUI UGM has an innovation program that it manages, namely the Innovative Academy which will equip business pioneers to be able to create and innovate based on digital and non-digital technology and encourage them to produce innovative works to be developed for spin-offs into startup companies which can stand alone. Participants will be guided to develop a new culture in managing startup businesses based on digital and non-digital technology.
Subdirectorat head of incubation PUI UGM, Hempry Suyatna, said that incubation activities would be more intense. He added that incubation activities will be opened for Soprema alumni from 2019 to 2020 and focus on alumni in DIY and its surroundings so that they can carry out activities offline. With the strengthening of this incubation activity, he hopes that Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta will not only become a city based on the tourism industry but can also become a city whose industry relies on sociopreneurs. According to him, if we only depend on the tourism sector during the Covid-19 pandemic, the economic sector will be destroyed.
Registration for the Soprema 2022 Incubation activity starts on 11th – 22th July 2022. Then the announcement of the Incubation on 30th July 2022 and the Soprema Incubation and Discussion Activities will be held in August – October 2022. While the registration for the Competition and Expo opens on 20th July – 30th August 2022. Then the announcement of the Competition and Expo is on 10th September, 2022. In addition, there will be Pekan Puncak which will be held on 17th October – 20th October, 2022.
