Robert Gordon University, visited Science Techno Park Universitas Gadjah Mada.

On 6 February 2025, Dr Simon Fraser from Aberdeen Business School, Robert Gordon University visited Science Techno Park Universitas Gadjah Mada. He was accompanied by a team from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UGM.

The visit aims to learn more about UGM Innovative Academy programme, including UGM incubation programme. Dr Simon wanted to know how UGM develops innovation and turns research results into useful products.

The group was received by the STP UGM team led by Dr Hargo Utomo, M.B.A., accompanied by Arief Sudarsono as Head of Sub-Directorate of STP UGM. On this occasion, Hargo Utomo gave a comprehensive explanation of the innovations and products produced by STP UGM.

The group had the opportunity to see directly and discuss the production process of UGM research and innovation. They also discussed how UGM develops innovations and turns research results into useful products.

There are many ideas for collaboration between UGM and Robert Gordon University. Dr Simon said that the culture and approach applied at STP UGM in producing and delivering innovation is very unique.

Dr Simon wants to understand more about STP UGM and hopes to do further collaboration with UGM. He believes that this collaboration can benefit both parties.

This visit is expected to be the beginning of a wider cooperation between UGM and Robert Gordon University. Thus, both institutions can learn from each other and develop innovations that benefit society.
