The image above explains the flow of innovative product delivery through triple helix cooperation. Various research results carried out by researchers in laboratories, faculties and study centers which have been guarded and protected by intellectual property (KI) by the Research Directorate will be included in the DITPU facilitation process which acts as a technology transfer office (TTO) to select the suitability of a research result for further developed in commercialization or downstream schemes. The mechanism for selecting inventions submitted to the Directorate of Business Development is carried out based on four criteria, namely go, conditional, upgrading required, and terminated. If the research and innovative results have high potential commercial value, then the invention will be recommended to follow the commercialization path through a spin off or start up license in the UGM STP scheme.
