Surakarta, October 15, 2025 – Gadjah Mada University has once again made a proud achievement on the national stage through two innovation incubator units, namely the Innovative Academy (IA) and PT Gama Multi Usaha Mandiri (Gama Multi). Under the coordination of the Directorate of Business Development, Science Techno Park UGM (STP-UGM), the UGM incubator won the “Leading Business Incubator” award from the Indonesian Business Incubator Association (AIBI) at the prestigious AABI–AIBI Summit 2025.
Not only that, three startups under IA also showed outstanding achievements at the same event. Aika Astana Indra Karya and AMX-UAV won awards as Developing Startups, while Swayasa Prakarsa won an award as an Outstanding Startup, reinforcing the success of the incubation model developed by UGM in producing entrepreneurs based on innovation and technology.
The awarding ceremony was held as part of The ICSIE – AABI AIBI Summit 2025, which took place on October 15–17, 2025, at The Sunan Hotel, Surakarta, Central Java. The event was a collaboration between the Asian Association of Business Incubation (AABI), AIBI, and Sebelas Maret University (UNS), with the theme “Innovation for a Sustainable Future: Creating Environmental and Social Impact.” This forum brings together various innovation stakeholders in the Asian region—from academics, industry players, investors, to business incubator managers—to share ideas and best practices in building a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem.
As part of STP-UGM, Innovative Academy and PT Gama Multi Usaha Mandiri have successfully bridged collaboration between academia, industry, and investors. Through an innovation-driven incubation approach, both focus on accelerating the commercialization of Gadjah Mada University’s research results to provide tangible benefits to society. The achievements of Innovative Academy and PT Gama Multi Usaha Mandiri are more than just awards; they also represent UGM’s commitment to continue building an inclusive, sustainable innovation ecosystem that has a real impact on the nation.
