Incubation Program of 2022 Batch 2 Has Been Opened

Incubation Batch 2

Sub-Directorate of Incubation UGM has opened the submission of proposals for the Incubation Program of 2022 Batch 2. This program is open for Prototype of Research TRL 6 and Scale Up (Industrial Prototype TRL 7). The Directorate of Business Development and Incubation in this case accompanies a research that has a level of technological readiness 6, 7 and 8. The level of technology readiness 6 enters the realm of making laboratory-scale prototypes carried out by researchers. Meanwhile, technology readiness level 7 enters at a specific stage in collaboration with potential industrial partners in the context of industrial-level prototype trials where this process involves validation of production processes, supply chain assessments that are closely related to industrial needs.

Lecturers who will submit the proposal can pay attention to the date of submission of the following proposal. The provisions on the date of submission of proposals are in accordance with what has been stated in the master, namely for submitting proposals for making samples of TKT 6 Batch 2 research products from 13 to 25 May 2022. While the submission of proposals for scale up grants for TKT 7 Batch 2 industrial prototypes from 11 May to 17 June 2022. In addition, for this incubation program, Dit PUI UGM has set priority areas to be targeted by the prototyping program which are grouped into the following 5 clouds:

  1. Health, which includes medical devices, products and technology.
  2. Agro which includes Industrial Plantation Forest, SILIN (silviculture intensive), integrated farming and agro products as well as livestock industry development.
  3. Renewable Energy which includes the development of biomass, biogas, biofuel and other renewable energy technologies.
  4. Manufacturing, Engineering, Information and Communication Technology (MRTIK) which includes biocomposite, water resources engineering, ICT products, Early Warning System, and others.
  5. Heritage, Art, and Culture Sustainability Management.

Gadjah Mada University, through its Innovative Academy, is collaborating with Garuda Spark Innovation Hub under the auspices of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) and with the support of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) through the Promoting Research and Innovation through Modern and Efficient Science and Technology Parks Project (PRIME SteP), is organizing the Yogyakarta Startup Ecosystem Workshop 2025 on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at two locations, namely the UGM Student Innovation and Creativity Center (GIK) and the UGM Entrepreneur Development Service (EDS).

This activity is a concrete effort by UGM to strengthen the startup ecosystem in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, which is known as a center for education, research, and creativity in Indonesia.
