Surabaya, 15th October 2024 – Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) collaborates with Indonesia’s Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs to empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The Mikro Mandiri 2024 program enhances competitiveness, strengthens networks, and accelerates MSME growth across sectors.
Launched in April 2024, the program attracted 2,578 MSMEs from various sectors. Fifty top MSMEs from Surabaya attended the two-day offline mentorship (October 15-16, 2024) at Hotel Ibis Surabaya City Center.
The program focuses on three aspects: business growth, financing access, and marketing access. Dr. Endy Alim Abdi Nusa, Head of East Java’s Cooperatives and SMEs Department, appreciated the program’s contribution to MSME empowerment.
This UGM-Ministry collaboration aims to enhance MSME owners’ understanding of business planning, marketing, and financing. Ari Anindya Hartika, Assistant Deputy for Micro Business Development, praised East Java’s MSME growth, emphasizing the importance of university partnerships.
Fifty MSMEs joined 17 partners providing financing and marketing access. This program demonstrates UGM’s commitment to MSME empowerment, aligning with its mission to contribute to societal and economic progress.
UGM hopes this collaboration will foster sustainable mentorship, enabling MSMEs to grow, develop, and compete globally.
Through this program, UGM and the Ministry envision establishing a solid foundation for Indonesian MSMEs to advance and contribute significantly to the national economy.
