Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) successfully hosted The Global Innovation & Future Technology Summit (GIFTS) 2024 on November 14-15, 2024, at the Innovation and Creativity Center (GIK) UGM. This collaborative event between UGM, GIK UGM, PRIME STeP, National University of Singapore, Tsinghua University, and MIT REAP ID featured engaging activities like talk shows and EntrepreneurHub Expo.
The GIFTS 2024 talk show presented prominent speakers from various STREAM fields (Science, Technology, Research, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics), offering insightful discussions on future innovation and technology. EntrepreneurHub Expo showcased Science Techno Parks (STP) from Indonesian universities, including UGM, IPB, ITS, UNPAD, and UI, highlighting innovative technologies and entrepreneurship resulting from university collaborations.
According to Dr. Hargo Utomo, UGM’s Director of Business Development, GIFTS 2024 was part of UGM’s 15th Lustrum and 75th Dies Natalis celebrations. This multi-stakeholder platform supports universities in driving innovation for national independence. He emphasized the importance of synergy among Indonesian STPs in enhancing innovation contributions to societal welfare, backed by PRIME STeP.
GIFTS 2024 aimed to catalyze innovation, fostering growth and development in Indonesia’s innovation ecosystem.
