Semarang, 17th October 2024 – Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) commits to empowering Indonesian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through collaboration with the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs. The “Mikro Mandiri 2024” mentorship program enhances competitiveness, strengthens networks, and accelerates MSME growth across sectors.
Since its April 2024 launch, 2,578 MSMEs from various sectors (culinary, fashion, creative economy, home decor, agriculture, plantation, fisheries, tourism) participated. Forty selected MSMEs from Semarang joined 18 marketing and financing partners.
On the first day, participants received intensive training on business development strategies, marketing, and financing. They presented their businesses to stakeholders, accessing partnerships, market networks, and broader financial support.
Febrian, Technical Team member, stated, “We’ve mentored participants for six months, from registration to online training and offline mentorship. We support seven MSME sectors.” He added, “Each sector has potential for growth, especially Central Java’s unique MSMEs.”
This program demonstrates UGM’s commitment to MSME empowerment, aligning with its mission to contribute to societal and economic progress.
Through collaboration, UGM and the Ministry envision establishing a solid foundation for Indonesian MSMEs to advance, grow, and compete globally.
