Bandung, 22nd October 2024 – Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) commits to empowering Indonesian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through collaboration with the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs. Mikro Mandiri 2024 Business Mentorship Program enhances competitiveness, strengthens networks, and accelerates MSME growth across sectors.
Since its April 2024 launch, 2,578 MSMEs from various sectors (culinary, fashion, creative economy, home decor, agriculture, plantation, fisheries, tourism) participated. Ridha Nurul Azizah M.M. from the Micro Mandiri 2024 Technical Team noted, “Southeast Asia has 64.2 million MSMEs, contributing 61.9% to GDP. However, challenges persist, including 30% struggling with marketing access and 50% facing financing hurdles.”
Sixty top MSMEs from Bandung attended the two-day offline mentorship (October 22-23, 2024) at Hotel Grand Tebu, focusing on business growth, financing access, and marketing.
UGM partners with the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs to enhance MSME capacity through training, mentorship, and human resource development.
At Bandung’s Micro Mandiri 2024 offline mentorship, 60 MSMEs joined 20 partners providing financing and marketing access.
This program demonstrates UGM’s commitment to MSME empowerment, aligning with its mission to contribute to societal and economic progress.
Through this collaboration, UGM and the Ministry envision establishing a solid foundation for Indonesian MSMEs to advance, grow, and compete globally. For more information, visit the program’s website.
