Sociopreneur it is not something new for academicians of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). Students of UGM born to become agents of national development. Social phenomena that occur in the environment should be an inspiration for Indonesian youth who want to contribute to the country. For three consecutive days, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM held a competition Sociopreneur Muda Indonesia (SOPREMA) in 2016, followed by young people from 34 provinces in Indonesia, on 5 to 7 September 2016.
The challenges of Indonesia to face the development from implementation of the ASEAN Economic Community should be balanced with human resources who can compete globally. To support it, Innovative Academy Program as an UGM incubator which has the objective of forming students to become young entrepreneurs based on digital, participated in the SOPREMA event.
Incubation product exhibition is a series of SOPREMA 2016 event held at the Graha Sabha Pramana UGM. The number of booths that participated in this exhibition stand reached 72, which consists of a wide range of business fields. UGM Incubator through Innovative Academy UGM introduce digital products that have are in the process of acceleration and business development. Through this program, the ideas of social businesses are promoted to be digital products, starting from looking for solutions to problems that can be solved through technology. Incubator UGM strive to create creative ideas into a product that can be seen together. The products were introduced at the SOPREMA 2016 Exhibition are, Pasienia, Galanggo, PijarPsikologi, Wemary, Muncak and Iwak. The introduction of these digital products, is implicitly expected to invite the exhibition visitors to open mind about digital startup and innovation ideas that can solve the social problems that occur in Indonesia.
Exhibition visitors who come to the UGM incubator booth come from sociopreneurship practitioners, community, students and participants who take part in the competition SOPREMA 2016. Some speakersd at SOPREMA 2016 also visit to the booth are Veronica Colondam (Founder Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa), Ronaldiaz (Mycotech), Nico Setyo (Bank Liran), Hempry Suyatna (Chief Organizer SOPREMA 2016), and so forth.
